Author: My wife and I had been together for nearly five years and I was determined to find somewhere spectacular to take her on our anniversary. The date of our wedding was in the height of summer so it was always easy to tie in a holiday with our celebrations. Last year we had been to Paris but I really wanted to push the boat out this year and find somewhere that neither of us had been before.
We were both keen dancers, and I quite liked the idea of taking her somewhere where we could dance the night away. I considered Cuba but after checking the prices, I couldn’t find any that would match my budget. After this failure I was feeling a little abject, but I suddenly saw a review of a holiday in Buenos Aires which immediately lifted my spirits. It talked about wonderful clubs where everyone danced the tango, and the most exhilarating nightl ife, combined with a beautiful city offering a mixture of exotic and sophisticated cafes and bars, and some of the most downtrodden areas you are ever likely to see. It sounded like a fascinating place to be and I booked the tickets there and then. I then went to find some flights and was thrilled to find some very cheap flights to Buenos Aires that would work perfectly with my budget.
I told my wife the next day where we would be going and she told me that she had wanted to see Buenos Aires all of her life!
